Crystalline Silicon
accustrata > our technology > crystalline silicon

AccuStrata’s solution for reducing cost of crystalline silicon solar cells is focused on increasing the power solar cells generate by:

  1. Increasing the amount of sunlight confined in the silicon absorber material through reducing reflectance loss and loss due to optical absorption in the coating
  2. Eliminating the color variations of the solar cells and saving on the color binning process
  3. Enhancing the passivation properties of the deposited coating increasing the cell efficiency
  4. Depositing back-surface passivation film which allow to reduce the wafer thickness and save significantly on material cost

AccuStrata’s control system monitors and controls the properties of the coating as it is getting deposited inside the deposition reactor. The intelligent optical monitoring system and cloud-based software program  decide in real time what design, process or material changes need to be made immediately in order to achieve peak performance for each individual solar cell. The software is able to design best antireflective and hydrogenating thin film coating on-the-fly, synthesize the physical properties of the layers and continuously and adaptively correct its own design formula during the deposition process in order to achieve the target properties. The control system is able to reduce or entirely eliminate the degrading effects of random fluctuations or long-term drifts of the process parameters or substrate’s surface conditions.
